Having Fun Together
Did you know that the Bible tells us plainly that we are not only called into a relationship with Christ but we are now part of His body and that we are all therefore connected to each other? Hillcrest has regular gatherings just to enjoy each other's company and share life together. Many of these gatherings are around great food and conversations with our church family and friends. Events like the Smorgasbord, coffee hour, senior nights out, and "meat and eat" get togethers all give us time to be together and strengthen our relationships.
Life is not meant to be lived alone.
God intends for us to experience life together.Working Together
Our church family has many gifts given to us by God both as individuals and as a community. Hillcrest provides several opportunities for us to use our gifts individually or in unison to share the message of Christ.
In any of a number of ways, you can find a place to use the gifts that God has given you. Many of the programs with which Hillcrest is involved exist to share the same compassion that Christ has shown us.

We work together side by side in ministries like:
- Habitat for Humanity, that supplies decent and affordable housing for people;
- Network of Nations, that helps international students at Northern Illinois University get an extended welcome to the United States;
- Feed My Starving Children, that helps to feed millions of starving children around the world;
- Hope Haven, a transitional housing program for the homeless; and
- Gas Card and Kitchen Ministries through Love INC, which works with churches in the DeKalb area to meet the complex needs of people in poverty.
